Kate’s Success Story
At billwerk, we are open to change, and we live by the principle of continuous improvement. Kate’s story is a bright example of how we live the values of independence and proactivity. When she started her career at billwerk in 2018 as Onboarding Experience Designer, her responsibilities looked very different from now. Due to her creative and open to challenges nature, she is now cooperating with two very different departments those of Marketing and R&D. ‘As a designer, I like to work with developing products. When you come to the office and you always have something new, no routine.’
Kate embraced the place for improvement which is provided by billwerk and successfully took part and completed the Certification on Usability and UX. We are proud of her dedication and hard work, as she manages to be a student and part of billwerk and nevertheless she has the eagerness to further develop her skills and knowledge.
An inside look at Kate’s Success Story.
How do you balance work and studies and yet have the energy and time to further develop your knowledge and skills?
‘I am fortunate to have the opportunity to study and work at the same time. In the afternoon I work, and in the evening, I do my university homework. Since I am studying visual design, it is possible to combine it with work. This simplifies the process. When it comes to the Usability and UX training, such a training is a great way to share experiences.’
How did billwerk support you during the training?
‘billwerk supports employees who study, and the company pays 60% of the training costs. My Colleagues were interested in how the training was conducted and supportive. This helped to make the training easier.’
How this certificate and your new knowledge will benefit your professional career and billwerk?
‘I started applying these practices in product development to make the process faster. I think the experience I gained in the course will be useful for improving our product and teamwork. Working with the development team will become clearer and we will understand the things we need to pay attention to. The higher empathy, the better the product.’
Any pieces of advice to your colleagues who also might wish to further their knowledge?
‘Learning is always good for the job; learning is a lifelong process and I believe that what you put into yourself brings you closer to your dreams. At the end of the course, we had a jury of professionals, one of them gave us a piece of advice that I remember: “Only you decide who you want to be in your work the ‘head’ or the ‘hands'”.’
We are proud of your achievement Kate! What makes you proud of the billwerk family?
‘Team cohesiveness and interest in product development. Each person contributes a part of his work and therefore the mechanism works harmoniously. They’re professionals and great people. Every employee is passionate about the product, attentive to each other in my opinion, nothing motivates more than a team that has one goal. We have 2 offices, in Frankfurt and in Minsk at the moment and we’re involved in activities together. I have an international family.’
‘The team, the technology, the diversity, the customers – everything leads to professional and personal development and brings contribution to the subscription economy.’ – Kate Filippova
