What was the initial situation with immocloud’s digital real estate software like? What were the challenges to be mastered?
immocloud is a PropTech company in the field of digital property management for private owners as well as for commercial management. The goal is to take the complexity out of management and increase the return on investment with the help of a digital assistant. Behind immocloud is a SAAS model based on monthly and annual subscriptions after an initial free trial period. In order to handle this efficiently and to focus on the core business, immocloud has chosen billwerk.
What possible solutions have you considered for meeting the technical / infrastructural challenge?
In the area of subscription management and payment processing, it was clear to us from the outset that we would work with an external partner. This was mainly because we wanted to maintain our development speed in the core business of digital real estate management and at the same time have a professional and secure partner for the entire subscription management at our side.
How did the solution with billwerk differ from the others? Why did you ultimately decide to master the challenge for your digital real estate management with billwerk?
Since our customers place a very high focus on data security, it was clear that we would work with a partner from Germany. With billwerk, we were immediately convinced by the support and professionalism. billwerk also offers the possibility to quickly and easily change the payment provider and to make individual extensions in order to perfectly map our business model.
How did the integration (operational, structural, timewise, etc.) of billwerk and the transformation of the organization work in connection with the solution?
From the start of the project, we were able to complete the full integration in cooperation with the technical experts at billwerk within just 4 weeks. The sandbox environment as well as the well-documented API helped us significantly. Since we opted for billwerk right from the start, no transformation of the organisation was necessary. We are now, however, still experiencing the insane speed of subscription management, which runs virtually automatically.
How does the solution work today? What is your conclusion at immocloud?
In addition to the convenience of the subscription management, we have steadily expanded our services with billwerk, so that we now easily charge our customers for one-off purchases, such as the purchase of a digital rental contract or the postal dispatch, via the interface to billwerk. For this reason, we are still 100% sure that billwerk was and is the right choice.
Do you have any helpful tips for other project managers in the field of real estate management who are also facing a similar challenge?
When choosing a partner, pay attention to the general function, the interface documents, and the integration possibilities as well as the closeness to the customer. This will give you the decisive advantage during implementation that you need for the success of such a project.
