Europcar, Europe’s leading car rental company, is launching a new business model with the Europcar MobilityFlat with a car flat rate. The subsidiary of the Europcar Mobility Group was founded in 1927 as Motor-Verkehrs-Union in Hamburg. As early as the 1930s, the company became Germany’s largest car rental company. In 1955, the first rental station was opened at a railway station.

Europcar MobilityFlat: The car subscription for regular travelers

The headquarters of Europcar Autovermietung GmbH is in Hamburg. With over 520 locations and a fleet of over 40,000 vehicles, it is one of the largest car rental companies in Europe. In July 2020, the company is expanding its portfolio to include a Europcar flat rate. With the Europcar MobilityFlat, users can use a new car every day at a fixed price. The target group of the Europcar car subscription are professional users and frequent drivers. Thanks to the Europcar car flat rate, they can use various makes and models from the Europcar fleet without committing themselves for long.

The advantages of the Europcar MobilityFlat

The Europcar car subscription includes 5,000 kilometres per month, the vehicle can be changed at any time and even novice drivers do not pay a surcharge. The user can change the vehicle as often as desired. They can choose from the categories Compact (VW Golf with navigation device) to Luxury Class (Mercedes S-Class). So there is a suitable vehicle for every situation, and the user can change vehicles as often as he or she likes.

The new vehicle can be collected at any Europcar station in Germany. Delivery is also possible for an additional charge. The fuel service is offered at the average pump price. The maximum period of use for a vehicle is 30 days – after that the vehicle must be changed.

The price always includes a navigation device. Diesel or automatic vehicles can be selected depending on availability. And in winter, the vehicles are fitted with winter tyres. At pick-up, Europcar MobilityFlat holders enjoy the Priority Service and can thus receive their vehicle more quickly.

Booking a vehicle is easy online, via the Europcar app, by phone or directly at a Europcar station.

What are the costs of Europcar MobilityFlat?

The Europcar subscription starts at a fixed monthly price of 799 euros plus VAT. This offer of the Europcar car flat rate is aimed specifically at business customers and frequent travellers. Each vehicle can be rented for a few hours, several days or even weeks. Thereby, the Europcar Car subscription can be concluded for three, six or twelve months. The contract can be terminated two weeks before the respective expiry date.

Corporate clients particularly appreciate the billing in one fixed monthly invoice, instead of many different receipts for each trip. Thanks to the fixed price, companies get planning security for their expenses. The debit is made at the beginning of each month.  And in many cases, the Europcar Auto Flat is cheaper than a long-term rental or leasing rate.

There is also no registration fee. Bookings can be made online, by phone or at a Europcar location. There are also no other additional fees: Cancellation and No-Show Fee, Young Driver Fee, Airport and Rail & Road Service Fee and Climate Protection Fee are covered with the Europcar Auto Flatrate. The excess in the event of damage is 500 euros.

With its car flat rate, Europcar joins the ranks of providers who already offer a car subscription. More and more users appreciate the flexible option that a car flat rate offers compared to classic leasing contracts or rental cars.
