Heating the smart home smartly via appCreate a Smart Building with tado Subscription

tado develops state-of-the-art technologies, products and services around the topic of Smart Home, Smart Building and climate control (with the latest products of the V3+ generation). The focus is on the smart tado thermostats and apps that adapt to the behaviour and everyday life of homeowners: The heating can be controlled from anywhere – and thus cost as well as energy savings are generated.

For example, the tado app notifies you when no one is at home, so that you can turn down the heating (even from work, for example). Furthermore, the heating app takes weather forecasts into account and reports when a window is open, for example, so that the heating can be turned off.

The products and services from tado are suitable for private homes as well as small businesses and ensure a high level of comfort and a healthy climate. The heating business is a seasonal one, so tado also offers a smart air conditioning remote control in addition to a smart thermostat.

Auto-Assist app from tado for complete automation

The push messages for location-independent control and for window open detection are generally included free of charge with all tado devices. However, those who want to benefit from complete automation can use the Auto-Assist app: The Auto-Assist skill can be booked in the app in the Tado subscription for 2.99 euros per month or for 24.99 euros annually. The annual subscription is thus 30 percent cheaper. The advantages of this app: When the last person has left the house, it automatically turns down the heating.

Before the first person returns, the heating is turned up accordingly. In addition, the tado Auto-Assist lowers the heating output when it detects an open window. Without the Auto-Assist, these steps have to be done manually. With it, they run automatically – but manual interventions are still possible. All residents of the house are included in the subscription and can use the app. The Auto-Assist skill can also be cancelled at any time.

tado subscription on a successful course in international business

Investors in the smart home start-up include VCs Target Partners and Shortcut Ventures, as well as Siemens. tado GmbH has now received 111.3 million dollars in eight financing rounds. The Munich-based company generates 75 per cent of its revenues in international business. The largest share of this, about 50 per cent, comes from non-German-speaking EU countries, a quarter from the UK. The remaining 25 per cent come from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. HomeKit certification, the boom in voice assistants in recent years and the acquisition of Smart Home provider Nest by Apple competitor Google have provided a significant boost to the market.

All European Apple Stores now feature tado’s products (including the Starter Kit – Smart Radiator Thermostat V3+), which has brought the company a lot of attention.

tado subscription as a pioneer in smart living

Climate change is on everyone’s lips and will continue to be a key issue. One third of global energy consumption is caused by heating and cooling buildings. In order to improve this situation, the development and use of smart technologies such as those from tado will continue to be highly relevant in the future – for the balance of a modern, sustainable lifestyle and comfort. The market for smart home devices is highly competitive.

For example, the market for smart thermostats is forecast to grow at an annual rate of 54 percent by the end of 2022. So tado GmbH, founded in 2011, is a pioneer here when it comes to smart living and heating.
