Subscription Based Services

For the first time with exclusive data on the development of Subscription Economy in Germany

Subscription-based services are increasingly displacing the traditional product business. Instead of owning products, this model gives customers access rights to product performance on a subscription basis in both B2C and B2B-oriented business segments.

The pioneers in subscription-based business models were and are companies such as Salesforce, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Spotify. They were the first to offer services on a subscription basis and were extremely successful. Although the subscription society is only at the beginning of its sustainable development, the potential and extent of the economic and social changes are already clearly visible, because costs are significantly reduced and the utility value and utilization are significantly increased.

In the meantime, many traditional companies from all sectors have followed the lighthouses of Salesforce and Co. There is much to suggest that subscription models will dominate the future economic landscape and bring about a paradigm shift. In order for subscription-based services to be profitable from a business perspective, some preconditions must be met on the provider side. For example, all relevant core processes must be automated and the complex processes involved in contract management, billing and payment processing must be processed across different business areas. Subscription management service providers help to focus on the core business, to drive the transition to subscription business models quickly and efficiently and to exploit their full potential.
